Physical Therapist Assistant
Freeda Kubiak has been a practicing Physical Therapist Assistant for 34 years. Her desire to become a PTA started in childhood, when she helped care for her grandmother, who was an amputee. She then attended Houston Community College, graduating in 1980 with an Associate of Applied Science in Physical Therapy Assisting. Freeda has vast experience in physical therapy and has worked in a variety of settings including hospitals, school systems, outpatient clinics, rehab units, sports medicine clinics, nursing homes, and home health. She also worked in specialties ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics and served as a rehab director in a hospital, nursing home, and outpatient clinic.
Freeda has been working in home health for 20 years. She enjoys the flexibility of home health and the one-on-one care she is able to give her patients in their homes. Her goals are to have her patients succeed to their highest levels of function and enjoy greater quality of life while experiencing life to the fullest in their homes and communities.
Freeda is a native of Louisville, Kentucky. Although she is a transplant to Louisiana, she has fallen in love with its friendly people, culture, food, and festivals. She is a member of the Evergreen Lions Club and belongs to the Krewe of Aquarius, where she rides during Mardi Gras on the Road Runner float. Freeda is a member of Grace Chapel Church and resides in Houma, LA.
Freeda says, "Watching my patients succeed and seeing them smile is a reward that money can't buy.”
