Jessica Roland, RN
Director of Nurses/Field Nurse
Jessica is a registered nurse who graduated from Nicholls State University in 2007 with a RN, BSN degree. Watching her mother return to nursing school and become a successful nurse greatly influenced Jessica’s decision to become a nurse herself.
Following her graduation, Jessica went on to work at Thibodaux Regional Medical Center on the medical/surgical unit until 2010. Striving to balance her career and home life, she accepted a position as a home health nurse and discovered an entirely different perspective on nursing. Jessica immediately found the flexibility of this position fit her lifestyle, and was pleasantly surprised at how close she became to her patients when caring for them in the comfort of their homes instead of uninviting hospital rooms. She believes that her experience as a home health nurse, and ability to work independently in the field, has enhanced her confidence as a nurse, strengthening her critical thinking skills and sharpening her nursing judgment when dealing with patients and their disease processes.
Jessica says, “Knowing that I can provide care and understanding to patients who are depending on me is what gives me the incentive to continue to grow and succeed as a home health nurse. “
